Solid and engineered hardwood, supplied and installed by RC Floors. We help you choose the species, width, and finish that fit your home, then install it so it lasts for decades.

What we install

The right hardwood for your house

Engineered hardwood

Real wood on a stable core. The right call for slab foundations, radiant heat, and the Bay Area’s humidity swings.

Solid hardwood

Classic three-quarter-inch planks that can be sanded and refinished for generations.

Prefinished or site-finished

Prefinished installs faster with a factory-cured finish. Site-finished gives you a seamless look and any stain you want.

Stairs, transitions, and trim

Treads, risers, nosings, and reducers that match, so the job looks finished from every angle.

FAQ

Hardwood questions

Refinishing an existing floor instead? See our refinishing page, or ask during the visit.

If your house is on a concrete slab, or you have radiant heat, engineered is the safer choice. On a raised wood subfloor either works, and solid gives you more refinishing life. We’ll tell you what we’d put in our own house.

Engineered hardwood can be glued directly to a slab that passes moisture testing. Solid hardwood needs a wood subfloor or a sleeper system, which adds height and cost. That’s why we test before we quote.

Most homes take two to five days depending on square footage, prep, and whether the floor is site-finished. You’ll get a schedule with the quote.
