Vinyl and laminate, explained plainly
Luxury vinyl plank (LVP)
The wood look, fully waterproof, and forgiving of busy households.
Luxury vinyl tile (LVT)
Stone and tile looks without grout to scrub. Kitchens, baths, laundry rooms, entries.
Rigid core (SPC and WPC)
Thicker, stiffer planks that hide minor subfloor imperfections and feel solid underfoot.
Laminate
The most scratch-resistant wood look you can buy. Best in dry areas, with water-resistant options for the rest.

Vinyl and laminate questions
Vinyl is waterproof and quieter. Laminate is harder to scratch and often looks more like real wood. If you have pets, kids, or a kitchen in the mix, we usually lean vinyl.
Sometimes. It depends on what’s there and how flat it is. Going over an uneven floor is how vinyl floors end up with lifted seams, so we check first.
The planks are. The subfloor under them is not, so we still care about where the water goes. We’ll be honest about which rooms need a waterproof product and which don’t.
Most rooms take a day. Whole homes usually run two to four days including prep.
